Jaime Hilario Canonical Visit. I did my first canonical visit of the year to Jaime Hilario in Bagac. I left early
in the morning of the 28th and was there by mid morning. I interviewed one Brother in the morning and two in
the afternoon. I also briefly met the teachers.

Br. Jun is the Director of the community and in charge of the non academic concerns of the school like the canteen and the bookstore. For this year he will be teaching Math and Christian Living to Grade 5 students. He is very excited as the last time he taught Math was 24 years. Br. Mandy is now on his fourth year at Jaime Hilario. He will handle Christian Living for grades 1 – 4 aside from his usual responsibility of preparing Grade two students for Holy Communion. This year he will also be Discipline Officer. Br. JJ is the Director of the school but he will also be teaching Science to Grade 5 students. He has been evaluating the program and making some changes. His thrust is to strengthen the basic knowledge and skills of the children. This year he also wants to concentrate on training and accompanying the teachers. Aside from the three Brothers, there are eight lay partners helping out. Four of them are Lasallian volunteer alumni.

I wish to thank the Brothers and LS partners of Jaime Hilario for their warm welcome. Let us keep them in our prayers.

Hermanas Guadalupanas. Sr. Mariana Reyes, General Directress of the HGS in the Philippines, will be returning to Mexico after a 10 - year stint. Sr. Mariana was assigned to the Antipolo community. Her replacement will be announced after the General Chapter which will take place next month in Mexico. Sr. Teresa Retome HGS, who will be delegate to the Chapter, will be coordinating with Br. Victor Franco until a new Superior is appointed. Many thanks to Sr. Mariana for the years of service she has rendered the HGS in the Philippines.

Fraternally,
