Br. Mario Dacanay’s Silver Jubilee. On 19 June 2010, Saturday, on the occasion of his Silver Jubilee, Br. Mario Dacanay renewed his vows at La Salle Academy, Iligan City. In attendance were Brothers representing all communities in the District. Also present were members of his immediate family and close friends. Msgr. Elenito Galido, Bishop of Iligan and Msgr. Fruto, chaplain of the school celebrated the Holy Eucharist. We keep Br. Mario in our prayers.
De La Salle University Search for 21st President. The DLSU Board of Trustees, through its chair Mr. Francis Estrada, announced the search for the 21st President of the University. The position has been vacated by Br. Armin Luistro FSC with his transfer to the Department of Education. The consultation process will commence this week through the Multi Sectoral Committee composed of representatives of the different sectors of the University. Possible candidates identified in the committee will be passed on to the board’s Search and Nominations Committee composed of trustees namely, Mr. Francis Estrada, Mr. Jaime Laya, Ms. Serena Diokno, Mr. Delfin Warren, Mr. Cesar de Larrazabal. The Brother Visitor will chair the SNC. The whole process culminates with the announcement of the new President on 13 August 2010, Feast of St. Benilde.
PARC Leadership Institute. The 2nd cycle of the PARC Institute program begins today at the DLSP multipurpose hall. The theme, 'Preparing future PARC leaders for the Lasallian Mission' will build on last year’s program and the past year’s experience back in their home sector. Participants will be staying at theDLS-CSB Hotel for the duration of the conference. There are 7 delegates each from the Philippines and Penang, 3 from both Thailand and ANZPNG, and 1 each from Vietnam, Myanmar and Colombo. The groups will also present the progress of the formation projects they initiated in their respective sectors at the conclusion of the 1st cycle of the program last year. There will be sessions on transformative leadership and learning organizations, and spiritual leadership in a multi-cultural and multi-faith context, among others. Let us welcome Br. Mark Murphy and his team, as well as Br. Anthony Rogers FSC and Br. George van Grieken FSC. Br. Mark is the overall organizer of the program and Bros. George and Anthony are resource persons Let us include all those involved in our prayers.
